I am Ms. Heflin, and I was born in Alpine, Texas and raised in the small community of Marathon, Texas.  After graduating high school in 1985, I attended Sul Ross State University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in English with a minor in P.E..  I moved to Fort Stockton in the Spring of 1987 and raised my daughter, here, where she received her education under the teaching of some phenomenal teachers. While I am on my 28th year of teaching, 22 with the Fort Stockton ISD, I am presently teaching 6th grade.  I teach Reading and Writing which have both been a love of mine for most of my life, and I work towards sharing that love and passion with my students. I have made Fort Stockton my home and have been blessed to work alongside a plethora of amazing educators and staff and blessed to have taught some wonderful students while I have worked here.  Here's to another year with FSISD.
