Mr. Luis Trejo was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Parkland High School in 2004 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Upon graduation from boot camp, Mr. Trejo reported to the Naval School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia. After graduation from the SOM, he reported to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 3, Third Marine Aircraft Wing, for duty with the Third Marine Aircraft Wing Band at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California. In 2006, Mr. Trejo deployed to Al-Asad Air Base in Anbar Province, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Trejo re-enlisted in the Marine Corps for a second tour of duty with Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Forces Pacific, for duty with the Marine Forces Pacific Band at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. It was during this second tour of duty that Mr. Trejo traveled the Pacific region, visiting many Pacific and Asian nations. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 2012 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Upon discharge, Mr. Trejo took advantage of the GI Bill and attended college, where he graduated from Sul Ross State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Education. Mr. Trejo is currently pursuing a Masters degree in American History from Sul Ross State University. Mr. Trejo lives in Fort Stockton, Texas, with his wife Zendel Hernandez-Trejo and bearded dragon Phillip.
Mr. Trejo teaches United States History at Fort Stockton High School. He is an academic coach for two UIL events; Congress and Lincoln-Douglas Debate. He is also an assistant track coach, coaching boys and girls long and triple jump.
