Mr. Marcos Mendoza

Welcome!

I am a Fort Stockton alumni and excited to teach in my hometown. A person of many talents, I enjoy sharing my knowledge. My interests are diverse and cover just about anything that deals with science, mathematics, engineering, music, philosophy, literature, and technology.

I attended St. Mary's University of San Antonio for my undergraduate studies and earned degrees in Engineering Science and Physics in 2013. I received a Master's degree in Physics from the University of California in Merced in 2015.

My first teaching experience was through assisting Principles of Technology, a course that at the time involved learning about the theory and construction of rockets in 2015-2016 at WRTTC. I then taught for two years in Balmorhea. Being a small district, I was essentially the science department at the high school. Over there, we engaged in several activities, including computer programming, 3D printing, and robotics. It is my hope that I can expand and refine what I have learned and taught throughout my time as a teacher. I look forward to contributing my talents and knowledge for the betterment of the students and the community. I hope we can continue our students' STEM prep from Intermediate and Middle School to High School in the near future.

I am the sponsor of the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME). Since I have been here, we have had at least one student make it to the state competition every year, as well as many seniors qualifying for scholarships. I have also assisted students who applied and successfully completed the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) program.

I also currently coach UIL Science and Computer Science, taking students to Regionals every year that I have been here. I also have helped with speaking events such as Persuasive Speaking, LD debate, and other competitions that students are interested in.

Feel free to glance at our past accomplishments.
