Dear Fort Stockton Middle School Parents and Students,

With our school closing due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and not having school this week, Fort Stockton Middle School staff have been working hard to provide the best academic and learning support for our students while they are not in school. We have many unanswered questions ourselves. We are working with state and federal agencies daily, assessing what options schools have, and the school district will inform parents as timely as possible.

Out of an abundance of caution and a desire to get ahead of this ever-changing landscape, Fort Stockton Middle School will be moving to online classes beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. In addition, as of today, all UIL activities have been suspended until the end of March. Again, that could change according to state agencies. STAAR testing has also been suspended for the rest of the school year.  

Fort Stockton Middle School will follow appropriate safety, health, and hygiene protocols to ensure the health and safety of all students, faculty, and staff.

We will provide both high tech and low-tech options to deliver instruction. All the middle school courses will be available through Google Classroom. To access Google Classroom, students will need a device that accesses the internet along with internet access at home.

If a student has no internet access, the school will provide printed materials weekly for parents and students to pick up. Printed materials may be picked up at the middle school's main entrance on the following schedule.

Mondays and Fridays
7:30 am to 9:30 am
3:15 pm to 4:15 pm

We understand our parents may have questions, and we assure you that academic and learning support is in place to assist all our students. There are many issues yet to be resolved, and many issues we are not even aware of at this time. We will share information over the next few days as we are notified by our local, state, and federal authorities. We ask our students to check their school email and Google Classroom for announcements.
