Monahans Invitational Results
The FSMS Blue Wave swim team competed at the Monahans Invitational on Friday, March 22nd where a remarkable SIX school records were broken! The boys couldn't let the girls have all the fun breaking records! 200 Freestyle Relay of Grayson Foster, Camiren Sexton, Haizen Gregory, and Mason May broke the long-standing record by 2 seconds that was set in 2016 with a time of 2:21.41!! Congratulations boys!!
The 200 Freestyle relay team of Sofia Garcia, Carla Vazquez, Camryn Reeves, and Alexis Rodriguez smashed the old record by 7 seconds clocking a 2:15.02!
Sofia Garcia and Carla Vazquez continue to break their own records! Sofia with a 3-second drop in the 200 freestyle and a 2-second drop in the 50 Backstroke. Carla with an impressive 8-second drop with a time of 1:39.48.
Last but not least, Alexis Rodriguez set her first individual school record in the 50 freestyle with a 31.96!!
Top 8 placings at the meet.
4th place Sofia Garcia 200 freestyle
6th place finishers were Carla Vazquez in the 100 IM, Alexis Rodriguez in the 50 free, Girls A 200 free relay (Sofia, Carla, Camryn, and Alexis)
7th place finishers were Carla Vazquez in the 50 fly, Sofia Garcia in the 50 free, 200 Medley (Sofia, Cydneii Ramirez, Carla, and Alexis)
8th place finishers were Megan Hanson in the 200 freestyle and Alexis Rodriguez I'm the 100 freestyle.
Coach Forst and Coach Vazquez are extremely proud of ALL swimmers who are working hard! They look forward to see the determination of these swimmers at the next meet in Andrews on April 6th! Let's Go Blue Wave!!!
