Fort Stockton, Texas (Aug. 28, 2023)-- The Fort Stockton High School Volleyball team hosted the Comanche Classic on Aug. 25-26. 

 

On Friday, the varsity squad took on Young Women's Academy (YWA), Odessa JV and Buena Vista. Scores for the games are as follows: YWA 25-10 and 25-19, Odessa JV 25-12 and 25-21, and Buena Vista 25-11 and 25-11. 

 

The Saturday pools were determined by wins, losses and points scored. This seeding system placed the varsity Prowlers in the top bracket. The Prowlers defeated Permian JV 25-15 and 25-19. Next up, the team defeated Da Vinci 25-16 and 25-16. For the last matches of the day, the Prowlers took on a tough El Paso Socorro team. The Prowlers fell to Socorro 20-25 and 20-25. 

 

FSHS's Junior Varsity squad also competed in the tournament. The team defeated Da Vinci and Balmorhea in Friday's pool play. On Saturday, the junior varsity Prowlers dropped games to Marfa and YWA. They were able to defeat the Balmorhea squad. 

 

Up next for the program is a game at Odessa High School on Tuesday, Aug. 29. The Prowlers will also be on the road on Friday, Sept. 1 when they take on Permian High School.
