Odessa, Texas (Sept. 19, 2023)-- The Fort Stockton High School Volleyball program traveled to Odessa for the last non district game of the season on Tuesday night. Prowler Volleyball competed in a freshman, junior varsity and varsity contest. 

 

Varsity faced an offensive heavy Odessa squad and was able to take one from the Lady Broncos, but that was not enough to secure a victory. The scores of the sets include: 22-25, 25-23, 22-25 and 18-25. Aryanna Gonzalez played tremendous defense and was the true definition of the Fort Stockton Athletics motto of "Team Never Quit". Amaya Urias was huge in the front row with key swings and great blocking. Ivanna Ortiz came up huge for the Prowlers as an all-around player who never really sees time off of the court. 

 

The junior varsity team secured a big victory for the Prowlers. The first set was a great offensive showing for the Prowlers. During the second set, the Prowlers were a little too relaxed, but were able to snag a great victory prior to district play. The freshman team was unsuccessful in securing a win. 

 

Fort Stockton's Volleyball program will now head into district play. The Prowlers are set to host Greenwood on Saturday, September 23. Come out and be loud, Prowler fans! We would love your support in our first district contests of the season.
