Prowler Volleyball program falls to Midland Legacy

Odessa, Texas (Sept. 1, 2023) — Fort Stockton High School’s Volleyball program traveled to Odessa to take on the Permian Lady Panthers. The program competed in four games with a Varsity game, Junior Varsity game, Junior Varsity White game and a flex team game. 

 
Varsity competed, but was unsuccessful in putting the Permian Lady Panthers away. Scores in the loss include 13-25, 19-25,20-25. 
Senior Ivanna Ortiz, Senior Aryanna Gonzalez and Senior Kriselda Porras each played amazing defense for the Prowlers. Senior Sophia Hernandez recorded three solo blocks. Junior Elina Montez had two great kills that shifted the momentum and helped to put the Prowlers within striking distance. 
 
“We are growing with each set that we play and that’s a great thing,” Head Coach Jessica Tully-Mitchell stated. “Our program is slowly gaining the experience that is needed to be successful in our district and I cannot wait to see the their growth when district play rolls around.” 
 
Each of the sub varsity squads was unsuccessful in securing a victory for the Prowlers. The program will look ahead to Tuesday, September 5 when they travel to Midland Legacy. Games are set for JV at 5 p.m. / Freshman at 5 p.m. /Varsity at 6 p.m. / JV White at 6 p.m.
