Prowler Volleyball sweeps Pecos and Gonzalez earns 1K digs

Pecos, Texas (Oct. 14, 2023)- The Prowler Volleyball program loaded up the brooms and took them to Pecos on Saturday. Each of the Prowler teams was victorious and Senior Aryanna Gonzalez added to the festivities. The senior defensive specialist/libero recorded 1,000 career digs.
The varsity squad defeated the Pecos Lady Eagles in straight sets with scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 26-24. Offensively, senior Ivanna Ortiz recorded her best game to date, tallying 14 kills. She also added 13 digs in the victory. Senior Amaya Urias added 10 kills in the victorious afternoon. Junior Kriselda Porras came through for the Prowlers, serving two aces and adding 18 digs. Gonzalez added 11 digs in the victory.
"We are playing a style of volleyball that focuses on the girls never quitting," Coach Jessica Tully-Mitchell stated. "Our girls have grown tremendously this season and I am glad to see what the future holds for us."
The Prowlers will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Seminole. A slight schedule change for this week has the Prowlers traveling to Monahans on Friday, instead of Saturday. The varsity game is slated to kick off at 5 p.m.
