Panther Tennis @ Sandhills Slam

Thursday, 2/8/24, the JV Panther Tennis Team started their individual season at Monahans and had a great show out with bringing back a 3rd place mixed doubles medal with a team made up of freshman duo Braedon Tolbert and Aubrey Ramirez. Continuing success after a shaky first round, both girls singles gained confidence and making it to the consolation finals. In the FS consolation final showdown, Valeria Palacios bested teammate Amelia Ingram to take that medal.

Friday, 2/9/24, was the day for the Varsity team to put on a show and they did just that. Bringing back multiple medals home and showing that their team motto of #NeverGiveUpNeverGiveIn attitude will lead to their success. Girls singles, Jaslene Tijerina beat fellow district foe out of Andrews to win 3rd place in straight sets. Boys singles, Cruz Rocha outlasted his opponent out of Wink in straight sets to bring home his 3rd place medal. Girls doubles, brought back 1st and 3rd place medals. Valleria Hernandez and Adison Fowler teamed up to bring back that bronze medal. Dropping the semis match to Monahans and redeeming themselves to beat Andrews after being down a set to win the third in a super tie breaker. Senior power duo of Athena Gomez and Jaslyn Pacheco, without skipping a beat, continued their success from the fall to snag that gold. They did so in a dominating fashion without dropping a set and beating both Andrews in the semis and Monahans in the finals.
