UTPB High School Swimming Invitational

Blue Wave completed in their 2nd meet of the season at UTPB hosted by Odessa High on October 7th where they competed against 4A to 6A schools. They held up their own and overall everyone was able to achieve their Personal Bests. 

The A 200 freestyle relay dropped 10 seconds off their overall time to 2:17.06. The relay consisted of all freshmen, Jailyn Cedillos, Emmry Warren, Dustee Dale, and Amyia Petty. 
The boys 200 freestyle relay also dropped 5 seconds off their overall time with a 1:53.58 with a 9th place finish out of 19 teams. They consisted of Rylan Jimenez, Daniel Perez, Alexandro Montoya, and Julian Ontiveros.
In the 50 freestyle, many improved but special shoutouts go to Senior Caption Luke Pules, Dustee Dale, Maily Sandoval, and Serina Garza.
The team is especially proud of Sophmore, Andrew Black, for competing in the grueling 500 freestyle for the first time and displaying grit and courage.
 
Coach Forst and Coach Vazquez are proud of the swimmers' determination and the continuing effort to reach their goals each week! Blue Wave's next meet is Tuesday, October 10th in Monahans followed by another meet next Saturday for the Andrews Sprint Extravaganza.
