The second game for the panthers was against The Kermit Yellow jackets. Kermit would test the Panthers, but the Panthers would answer the challenge and still would not back down. Jondrey Reyes pitching a beautiful game against the yellow jackets only allowed them to have 2 runs. The panthers would battle against the yellow jackets with a tie game and would score a run in the final inning of play with a walk off hit by Kariel Rojero. The final score was 3-2 and the Panthers advanced to the championship. 

 

On February 23rd at 7:30 PM the championship game for the panthers started. The Panthers would get the offense going as they would put up 4 runs by Karl Rojero and Zane Natividad to bring in RBI’s. Allan Leyva would be on the mound for the panthers as he shut down the Ozona lions for 2 innings. Jor El Tapp would come into relieve and would get the panthers out of the inning. The score was tied 4-4 by the bottom of the 3rd. The panthers would continue to add insurance to help gain the lead and and the score would go up 10-6. Ozona chipped away and would make the score 10-10 at the bottom of the 5th. The panthers would go up by one run as Ayden Villarreal would shut the Lions down and the panthers would bring in one run to make the score 11-10. The Panthers would add some more runs in the top of the 7th to extend there lead 15-10. Allan Leyva re-enters the game to collect the save and would seal the fate for the panthers to win and become back to back Champions for the Crockett county classic!
