Our JV Prowler softball team participated in a round robin hosted by Monahans this weekend. The prowlers ended the tournament with a total of 5 wins and one loss. Prowlers started the tournament Thursday defeating Stanton 16-4. The Prowlers accumulated 12 hits in this game. Rylee Wiest, Ayla Valenzuela and Diem Hinostroza  each collected multiple hits. Prowlers faced Marfa that same afternoon and continued to be sure-handed on the plate and in the field. In this game Lauren Gonzales and Karissa Salmon both hit inside the park home runs. Prowlers ended the game with a final score of 15-0.  Friday the Prowlers returned to Monahans and faced Seminole and Van Horn.  Prowlers got a 9 run lead in the second inning and held on for a 9-7 victory over Seminole. They took another big win over Van Horn with a score of 12-4.  Yareli Palacios had a double that drove in two runs followed by Diem Hinostroza and Rylee Wiest. Saturday the Prowlers started the day defeating Monahans 13-2.  Bailey Roberts had a double in the first inning and  hit a home run in the third inning. Valeria Marquez tripled, scoring two runs. Marlayna Salmon gave up three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three and walking none.  Prowlers were defeated in the last game of the tournament by Andrews 11-3.  Jocelynn Carrillo doubled bringing in two runs to put the Prowlers on the board in the first inning. and Diem Hinostroza went 2 for 2 at the plate and brought in the 3rd run for the Prowlers.  Overall the Prowlers had a great tournament.  They were very strong at the plate and scored a total 68 runs the entire tournament.  Great Job Prowlers!!
