Varsity Prowlers vs. San Angelo

The Prowler Varsity Softball Team returned to action on February 27th in San Angelo as they closed their way to an 18-4 victory over the Lakeview Maidens. The battery consisted of Aryanna Gonzalez and Nevaeh Morales. Gonzalez would throw eighty-seven pitches with sixty strikes and allowed only four runs on eight hits, two walks while striking out six. Coach Glasscock stated, "I was proud of the battery tonight because it is never easy to get off the bus after a three hour trip and perform at a high level especially with the expectations we have for our team. All we ask is that they compete with every pitch and let the other stuff take care of itself. We will never lay down on the field and we will never Quit." Offensively the Prowlers started from the beginning by scoring two runs in the first, one run in the second, two runs in the third, one run in the fourth and blowing it open with seven runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. Leading the way was Kriselda Porras with four hits including two triples and a double while racking up nine RBI's. Hitting doubles on the night were, Adamari Renteria, Aubrie Salgado and Krisleda Porras. Triples were collected by Alondra Encinas, Adamari Renteria and two by Kriselda Porras. The Prowlers swiped eleven bases on the way to the victory.
