Varsity @ Pecos

The Ladies would return to district action on Wednesday, March 13th and pick up their first district win by defeating Pecos 8-4. Gabby Madrid would pick up the win in the circle by pitching 7.0 innings, striking out ten on seven hits and only allowing four runs. Mia Garcia would blast a home run and the prowlers would collect eleven hits, including four hits by Jocelynn Arcides, two hits by Kriselda Porras with a double and two RBI's by Mia Garcia and Joceylnn Arcides. Defensively, the prowlers committed four errors but were able to work out of those due to Gabby Madrid pitching a gem. Glasscock stated, "Gabby will always keep you in the game because she is smart and knows what she wants to do to the opposition. We just need to focus more, especially from the beginning and not allow teams to get some early runs. We play better with a lead and so that focus needs to be established early on. I am proud of our girls for responding after a rough district opener." Thursday, March 14th the Prowlers would travel to Midland to take on the Bulldogs and would lose 7-2 to end their spring break games. "It is difficult to look at losses, but we did get better this past week and we will carry that over and look to improve this next week."
